Not long now until ‘P-day’. That’s ‘P’ for ‘publishing’, or maybe ‘Peculiars’.
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Chickenhouse ‘Big Breakfast’ event, where Freaks got its first bit of public exposure. There were lots of copies on display, along with all the other new Chickenhouse treats, and they had all been snaffled up by the end. Hopefully people are reading and enjoying them, not just using them to prop up wonky tables or as toilet paper substitutes.
After the event I filmed a couple of bits for the new Chickenhouse website. It was painful to do, and even worse to watch, but in case you want to hear me waffle on about the book, here’s the link:
I’ve noticed that I’m not exactly inundating my blog with entries, but I’m finding that every minute scrap of my spare time is being consumed by book, work or nappy changing at the mo.
One place where I do have lots of time is at the weekly staff meeting, and various other courses and training sessions for work. Most of these contain about twelve milliseconds of useful information, and the rest of the time is spent staring into space, praying for death, or in my case- doodling.
Flicking through my diary for this year, I noticed it looked more like a sketchbook, so I have decided to upload some of my better doodles from 2011, before the term ends and I chuck my book in the bin. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I loathed the tedious meetings that spawned them.
